I am a new small business (internet sales). Should I send a "thank you for your order" email? I also sell on eBay and I can "leave feedback" thanking them for their purchase. How should I follow up with a sale from my website?
Speaking for myself getting an extra email would irritate me. I am assuming that your customer would have already gotten a receipt via email that thanked them for the purchase? Perhaps if a thank you is not already included in your template then you should include one. With purchases that include a shipment I appreciate most a handwritten note in my package. I notice that in packages from eBay a lot of the sellers will include a personal note as an extra touch. Maybe something like that could be considered? Happy selling!
