I would like to receive notification when a new subscriber has been added to any of my lists. Especially those who are on the suppressed list. I don't see any place to activate notification under the marketing tab from my dashboard. I see that someone else asked this question in June but the response was very generalized and there was no answer to the question. Thank you.

I inquired about this very issue today via GoDaddy Help Chat. I asked why I didn't receive any notification (via email or otherwise) that I had new subscribers. Here is the conversation. I hope it is helpful for you.
(The rep helping me was Jill.)
Upon thoroughly checking, the main reason why you cannot receive ant email notifications it is because it should be created under the contact form.

So the only notifications we can receive are notifications for a new message when someone uses the "Contact Us" form?? There is no way to receive notifications when someone enters their information in the "Subscribe" form?
at 9:53, Aug 1:
Yes, correct. if you want under your "Contact Us" page you can put up the promotion ad so whenever someone subscribe you can receive an email notification.

But then they are not subscribing. They are only sending us a message. I have to go in myself then, and enter their information as a "subscriber" by hand on a subscriber list on my dashboard. I want customers to be able to subscribe on their own, and I want to receive a notification when that happens. How can I set that up?
at 9:56, Aug 1:
Sadly, there is no feature like that in your current plan.
at 9:56, Aug 1:
What plan includes that feature?
at 9:59, Aug 1:
We highly recommend the Word Press Hosting Plan as you can create your own contact form in there. However, it needs familiarization with setting up a web hosting environment.

That is way too advanced for me. I run a small business and we have very simple marketing needs. When I used MailChimp for our email campaigns, they always notified me when someone subscribed or unsubscribed, and MailChimp is a free service. We are paying for GoDaddy's email marketing. Please advise how I can set up a simple email notification when I receive a new subscriber without getting a more complicated plan.

As per checking, email marketing is free under your current plan. Sadly Karlyn, as much as I would love to set it up but the one that you want us to do is not applicable in your current plan.
So, unfortunately, it sounds like we are out of luck when it comes to knowing when a visitor to our website or a recipient of an email campaign subscribes to something.
If the context of my conversation with GoDaddy would be helpful, here are the details of my concern:
I recently attempted to launch a promotion where the first 25 subscribers would receive a coupon. I did this by using GoDaddy's email campaign service to inform our customers of our new GoDaddy website, and included the information about the promotion: The first 25 visitors to our new website who subscribe to our newsletter would receive a coupon. I had previously used MailChimp as my free email campaign service, and always received notifications about new subscribers, unsubscribes, dates & timestamps of subscribes/unsubscribes, etc. I wrongly assumed this was standard practice for email marketing services, because when I launched my email campaign yesterday, I was shocked to see that even by this morning, despite over 100 people opening the email campaign and visiting our website, there had been no new subscribers--and there was even a coupon involved! However, upon further investigation on my Subscribers page, I did see a list I hadn't noticed yesterday--an "AUTOMATIC LIST" created by GoDaddy. I saw I had 34 people on that list...And since I only have the "Subscribe for a Coupon!" subscription form on my website, I am assuming all 34 of the new subscribers came from that subscription form. However...I have no way of knowing who signed up when! This is incredibly frustrating for me. It would be so helpful to know when we get new subscribers. That way we could track trends and monitor promotions like the one I posted on my website.
I poked around on my dashboard and found something that I hope turns out to be somewhat helpful.
Go to your Marketing menu, and under the sub-menu "Email Marketing," click on "Settings."
This brings up a page with three tabs. The middle tab says "Feature Add-ons." There are a few of those Add-On features that I enabled to find out if they will give me a work-around for not getting notifications (one puts a timestamp on subscribers, apparently, which might help some). But I have not tested any of these Add-On features yet.
I hope GoDaddy adds a Notifications feature for any new subscribers. I was so disappointed that this simple, intuitive feature is unavailable with a plan I pay for that includes email marketing and a website with subscription sign-ups. It looks like we're not the only ones who need this feature.
Thanks I too am wondering how to keep up with new subscribers - it looks like you have to log in to your dashboard to check. If that is the case, I will transfer the signups to Mailchimp to keep on top of communication.
By default you will not receive notifications when folks subscribe via your website. This is because the volume of emails can get out of control when you have a lot of traffic / subscriptions.
If you'd like to be notified each and ever time however, you can reach out to our support team and they can turn it on for you. Use the Chat option in the upper right corner when on the Email Marketing page, or give us a call.
One great alternative to managing the subscribers manually would be to set up an autoresponder that gets sent each time someone subscribes. More info on how to set that up can be found here: https://www.godaddy.com/help/all-about-autoresponders-12530?

Thank you!! So let me be sure I understand correctly--GoDaddy is able to turn on "new subscriber" notifications if I simply ask? I will not need to upgrade to a different plan?
Thank you so much for your response!
That is correct. If you call in or chat from someplace other than the Email Marketing area, you might need to ask them to reach out to the Email Marketing Specialists for help on this. Only these Specialists can change this setting for you. And you do not need to upgrade to a different plan.
I hope this helps.
