Updating NS to Bluehost but keep DNS records on GoDaddy

Hello,

I recently signed up for website hosting through Bluehost, however I want to keep my DNS records on GoDaddy. The reason is I set up my G Suite email already on GoDaddy and I don't want to have to redo them on Bluehost.

If I set the NS record to Bluehost, will all my other DNS records be messed up?

Thank you

Yes, it would use the DNS at Bluehost if you change the NS.

If you wanted to keep the DNS at GoDaddy check with your host for the proper IP address for the account (from your hosting account, separate from the NS IP), then you would update an A record.

A record-

Host: @

Points to: (IP address provided by Bluehost)

I exactly want to do that. At Godaddy there are three type A records, will I need to change all three ?

Most websites only need 1 A record for Host:@ (possibly more with other host names for email, subdomains, etc.  These should stay the same.).  But if your hosting plan offers redundant IP addresses you can randomly select one or put in as many as you want.  The key is all A records for Host: @ should point to the hosting plan you want to use, if you have A records for Host: @ pointing elsewhere they should be deleted.
