htaccess file issues

I have an issue with my htaccess file. It don't work!!

You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Server unable to read htaccess file, denying access to be safe

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Is there a "generic" GoDaddy file that includes SSL redirects that can be used and modified to reflect my settings? I am completely out of my leagure on this issue and any inout would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: htaccess file issues

Hi @JamesStL. Redirects can be tricky. As long as you have a Linux hosting plan, you should be able to use a .htaccess file (note the "." has to be at the beginning of the file name). I'm not sure why you'd be seeing that error. If the file is correctly named but you're still seeing the error, you may want to connect with our support team to make sure there are no issues with the account.

There isn't a sample .htaccess file you can download, but this Help Center article might give you the information you need. Hope that helps.
