Why do I need an online store verses website?
Do I need to put products on both? 
Do I need individual buy it buttons for each product on website?

You can build a website with any of the plans, the levels are based on additional features.  Online Store is the top plan with all of the features available.

You can add buy now buttons to website pages, the online store has special product pages/shopping cart/etc.
