Godaddy false price advertising

Godaddy has been advertising false website domain prices stating there £0.99 or $0.99 but when you go to the cart to purchase the price gets massively increased to £5.99 ( with vat ) spoke to there tech support they told me the 0.99 price is for your 1st domain buy only not for other ones afterwards but they clearly advertising it at the low price, in the UK thats called false advertising and deceit by false representation its Illegal and the company can be fined and sentenced to prison for it. Nowhere does godaddy tell you this about 1st domain 99 cent / pence only applies to 1st purchase order only until you complain about it. Its fraud and morally wrong aswel as this they hike the renewal from 1yr to 2 yrs without asking even after you selected the price for 1yr only. Be aware people. Jokers

Re: Godaddy false price advertising

Hi @alien-planet,

Welcome to the Community.

The agent you spoke with was correct; please review the terms and conditions of any coupon or promotional offer. The .99 special will only apply to some TLDs - check the specifics on the deal indicated by the asterisk. Any additional years added to the promotional price will be at the regular registration fee. And if the discount has been used in the account before, it will generally not provide a second domain at this price. If it's your first time buying an eligible TLD in the account, you may wish to contact customer support to ask about applying the offer.

A domain will renew for the original term it was registered. If you registered for 2 years, it will renew for that same term. You have complete control over the length of renewal and registration in the account. If you need help with this action please contact our support team at any of the numbers in the link below.
