VAT Code for Europe

We are Godaddy customers (From Europe) and we need the tax (VAT) code registration of your company. You can help with this registration code? as soon as possible... Thank you!

Hi @SduH, thanks for posting.

GoDaddy's VAT ID begins with EU because GoDaddy is a foreign entity that provides e-services in the EU. VAT on e-Services is a special scheme for operators who are not established in the European Union (E.U.) but who provide electronically supplied services to non-taxable persons established within the E.U. The scheme provides an electronic means of registration and accounting for VAT in a single European Union member state of their choice.

It is sometimes referred to as VOES.

EU is also an option on the site you provided, but only under the "Requester" section.

Can you pleasa explain since your support department cant answer for 10 days why are you charging us europian company's with some strange EU tax (this is added to all incoices VALUE ADDED TAX ID: EU826011190) valid VAT ID? Non of the accountant firms in our country cant explain this and they all say that you can not charge us with such tax coze it is not legal since vi are valid VAT taxpayer in EU.

You have removed option in our user account to enter our VAT ID (it use to be there) and your action to charge this ilegal tax increased domain price for more then 22%. I do not know what are you doing but this is not fine at all. Non of other American companys we buy services from charge us such tax.

Erik

VAT is not appplicable on Intra-communitary transactions. One only pay VAT when sale is made by a firm inside his own country, so this tax seems not legal, as we cannot deduct it in our countries.

There is a slightly unwieldy but useful website where you can verify the VAT number supplied by any company http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/ - EU is not even an option for the first two letters. I've never seen a VAT charge from GoDaddy but they do quote the VAT nr on their invoice. We've decided to deal with it as a VAT exempt invoice rather than ECS 20%. Scratching my head on this, GoDaddy can't have made this number up, what is it then? Clarification would be appreciated.
