Cannot add DNS hosting for a site registered with external registrar

Hi there,

I get an error when adding dns hosting for a domain name registered at another registry.

"This domain is owned by someone else or in a different shopper account."
I believe that I need to use the godaddy nameservers for the (wordpress) site hosted on my shared hosting account.
My process up to this point was:-
I created a subdomain in Cpanel and migrated the site to that subdomain to allow me to make changes before 'switching' to the main domain. (this created a folder with the same name as the intended main domain)
After recieving the same error as above I removed the subdomain as I thought that would be the conflict.
Error continued.
I have tried adding an addon domain - and this also didn't help.
The domain is registered at gandi.net

Thanks for your help!
Mike

Hello @bikebimmonds!

Thank you for posting. That message means that the domain you're trying to host is already setup on a hosting account within our system. You'll need to reach out to our support team to have them help with this situation. Thanks!
