Cannot host a sub-domain if domain is not hosted in GoDaddy

I have purchased a domain (whatever.com).

I'm only hosting DNS in GoDaddy, and my domain's A record is pointing to another hosting and everything works as expected.

Now, I want to set up a subdomain (support.whatever.com) and I want to host it in GoDaddy.

However, it seems like I'm not able to host a subdomain if the domain is not hosted in Godaddy.

Could please someone confirm this?

Re: Cannot host a sub-domain if domain is not hosted in GoDaddy

Just add support.whatever.com to the hosting account as if it were a domain.  You may need to manually update the DNS.

A record-

Host: support

Points to: [IP address from hosting account]
