Domain Expiration Scam

Anybody else lose a domain due to the $80 recovery charge (when it was $1.99 initially) and told it would be available for sale again, only to find 'the owner' is selling it now for $2800 (or whatever amount)?

@ssperron its not really a scam per se. You failed to renew the domain name, the domain doesn't go into "recoverable" until almost a month after expiration. Most registrars will allow you to recover the domain name for a fee. It appears that someone purchased the domain either at expired auction or once it was deleted from the registry and have listed it for sale.
