Domain Privacy Feature Also Removing While disabling Domain Protection!

Hi All,

Presently, facing a problem for which I am expecting that some tech-gurus from GD will suggest me something beneficial.

Just bought 10 domains for reselling in premium listings. All the said purchases include "Privacy Protection" as well as "Domain Protection" features Bundle. Now, when I tried to list the domain in Premium Category, System disallowed me stating that I have to remove the "Domain Protection" for listing it in Premium. Now, after taking clarifications & recommendations from Chat Representatives (Which I believe that They need a fresh Training ASAP to guide Customers precisely), that By Removing "Domain Protection" feature, My "Privacy Protection" Will not suffer, I removed "Domain Protection" for a particular domain. And then consequently, My Privacy Protection also gone along with Domain Protection. I again contacted with Chat Rep. and this time they said since it was a bundle offer so, I can not deactivate one feature only. (Wot a Non-Sense!! Is it difficult for Technical Team?). I have a Question for Technical Teams at GD that is it ethical that one just want to pay for Privacy Protection but u give them Domain Protection too and when one try to deactivate that option then both options are eligible to deactivate so that one has to pay for Privacy Protection again? Is it Ethical Business Practice? Why the Separate Options are not available that if one wants to deactivate only Domain Protection, then Privacy Protection will not be affected? Even, there was not a single caution that by removing Domain Protection, Privacy Protection will also be disabled! SIMPLY, I am disappointed!

Still, Chat Rep. have no answers to my queries as I think they also did not have knowledge. They are still advising me to detective the Domain Protection as it does not have impact on Privacy Protection. But i tried it last night and it was a failure.

So, What to do? Any Technical Team Representative from GD? I Just want to disable my Domain Protection Feature with retention of Privacy Protection for listing in Premium Category!

Looking for Replies!

Regards!

@Hammad345 To the best of my knowledge domain protection and privacy are one in the same as stated here: https://www.godaddy.com/domains/full-domain-privacy-and-protection

You'll need to remove the privacy protection because ownership needs to be verified via the whois to be listed for sale.

Re: Domain Privacy Feature Also Removing While disabling Domain Protection!

Hi @Hammad345,

Welcome to the Community,

There are several levels of privacy that can be purchased for your domains. Protected Registration is a package that includes the privacy, transfer protection, and expiration prevention. It is a bundle, and cancelling it, cancels the bundle. Privacy is at the lower level, just applying the whois masking on your domain, so registrant details are not available in the various whois directories around the globe.

When you go to the check out with your  domains you can add or subtract these features. If it goes into the cart with the Protection package (which it will do, as required, for those in GDRP regions) you can remove the option, by clicking the trash can in the cart for that item. You can also add just the privacy there.
