Domain forwarding does not work in Chrome

GoCentral online store is hosted at GoDaddy on a domain name (works fine and fast)

I want to use a GoDaddy hosted domain name to FORWARD to primary domain name

it works FAST on all browsers EXCEPT Chrome

with chrome there is a latency

for people who go to the page for the first time ever (sometimes) the page never loads

other times it is very slow to load but eventually does load

this is ONLY an issue with google chrome

it is also worldwide

Re: Domain forwarding does not work in Chrome

Do you know how many add-ons you are running @BartholomewBB? How are you testing the response time?

...turns out that my two cents is worth less or more depending on the current exchange rate.

Re: Domain forwarding does not work in Chrome

Hi @BartholomewBB. Welcome to GoDaddy Community! I think what @rd was referring to was browser extensions. I'd suggest seeing if the same thing happens in a Chrome incognito window. That would bypass any cache or extensions you usually use. For what it's worth, I'm not seeing any delay when I visit your domain using Chrome.

Re: Domain forwarding does not work in Chrome

understood

on my personal machine, I have a lot of extensions

on my phone I have minimal

so I went to a machine that did NOT have chrome on it at all

installed chrome

same latency (first time going to page)

the second time it is mush less

this as mentioned before is an issue with chrome worldwide

not on just my computers

www.bbb.galley forwards to www.bartholomewsbrilliantboxes.com

this is only an issue with CHROME

Re: Domain forwarding does not work in Chrome

@BartholomewBB I see. My guess would be that Chrome checks the website you're being redirected to prior to directing you there. Redirection is commonly used maliciously, so it may have checks in place that cause a delay in how the browser reacts to being redirected. If there were an issue with the forwarding itself, it would likely be occurring in all locations on all browsers.

Re: Domain forwarding does not work in Chrome

100% not disagreeing with you

this is a chrome issue (since it does not happen with any other browser)

does this make Chrome MORE secure than Firefox, IE, EDGE or Opera?

or just a mess?

Re: Domain forwarding does not work in Chrome

I apologize for not clarifying but @JesseW was right, I was referring to Chrome Add-ons extensions.

I don't personally find that Chrome loads any slower for me @BartholomewBB than any other browser . I don't know that I'd call it more secure either? It probably comes down to preference or use. Google does have a pagespeed insight tool to help you optimize available on their developers tool guide. I hope that helps?
