Domain points to web server and email server differently.

My domain is morrisdomain.com with Godaddy

I am using Godaddy default NameServers. ns63.domaincontrol.com and ns64.domaincontrol.com

I like to have my website (http://morrisdomain.com and http://www.morrisdomain.com) point to server A with IP address 111.111.111.111

I also like to have all my email (mail.morrisdomain.com) points to server B with IP address 222.222.222.222

Currently, I am setting my DNS in Godaddy like this

A  mail 222.222.222.222

A @ 111.111.111.111

CNAME www @

MX mail mail.morrisdomain.com

Is that right? For some reason I am not getting any email at all.

Please help

Re: Domain points to web server and email server differently.

@michaeljackson

For the MX record the host should be @ not mail as otherwise you've setup an MX record for something@mail.yourdomain.com

vs something@yourdomain.com
