Email received - "Action required: Verify your contact info". Disappointed in GoDaddy procedure.

I received an e-mail of the attached title, with a clickable link inside the email to log in.  After a bit of mucking I was able to verify that this was legitimate.

That being said, I think it's poor practice to provide embedded links in emails for accessing accounts.  Almost all emails that I receive with such links are immediately classed as spoofs or phishing attempts.

In my opinion, responsible providers of internet services, which presumably includes GoDaddy, should always require account holders to navigate to the website and do properly credentialed log-ins in order to access account information.

Firstly, I agree @Elliephant but any links would only be there for your convenience. You are of course free to navigate to the information for yourself. There is a much more technical answer than I could write by @TLH in the thread Action required: Verify your contact info. I understand your frustration but I hope that information helps?

...turns out that my two cents is worth less or more depending on the current exchange rate.
