I want to forward my godaddy domain to a file in my hosting service with another company. I did follow the steps given in the godaddy site but not getting result expected. I want my domain with godaddy 123456@com to appear in the address bar ( as URL ), but instead what appear in the address bar is the filename from my hosting service. asdfxx.com/zxc.html
I tried the godaddy help for hours with no response from them ( hopeless - well cheap everything I guess). Is the forwarding with masking mean my domain name will appear in the address bar as the URL but not the file name I forwarded the domain to ??? All help appreciated thankfully, in advance.

Yes Forward with Masking is exactly what you are describing - what it does is creates a "frame" so that it keeps the domain and loads the other site with the frame.
The downsides to this are
1) as you click through the site the URL may never change so you don't get any SEO benefits
2) Many servers are starting to block frames as a security issue so the site may not load at all.
3) If someone looks at the source code of the page they can easily see the actual URL that is being loaded.
