We have several domains that are parked and, for email security, I would like to ensure that spammers cannot make use of them. There is an IETF document from 2015 called 'A "Null MX" No Service Resource Record for Domains That Accept No Mail' (RFC7505), which indicates the MX record can / should be set as "."
The GoDaddy UI does not allow for this setting; the UI checks for a fully qualified domain on the MX record.
What is the best way in GoDaddy to accomplish something similar to this? If you remove the MX record, RFC7505 says mail senders just default to using the A record as fallback for SMTP.

Truthfully, I don't think there's a way to do this on the GoDaddy system currently. You may want to give customer support a call and see if they have any alternatives for you.
