Please see the instructions below from one of GoDaddy's Help articles on transferring your domain to another register. You can find the article here: https://www.godaddy.com/help/transfer-domain-to-another-registrar-3560
"The process for transferring a domain name registered with GoDaddy to another registrar is not hard, but it does take time. You'll complete some steps with GoDaddy and some steps with the new registrar. The total process can take up to 10 days to complete.
*If you want to move a domain name from one GoDaddy account to another GoDaddy account, see Move a domain to another GoDaddy account.*
**Note: You're not eligible to transfer a domain for a 60-day period after the following events:
• Registering or transferring a domain name
• Updating the registrant contact's organization
• Updating the registrant contact's first or last name and an organization is not listed
You're not eligible to transfer a domain for a 10-day period after changing your domain from one GoDaddy account to another via the Account Change Process.
For more information, see ICANN's Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy and our Domain Name Change of Registrant Agreement.
Note: Many country-code top-level domain names (ccTLDs) don't require an authorization code. However, there are a few exceptions where you'll need to contact customer support to get an authorization code. For more information, see Authorization codes to transfer ccTLDs
For .uk domain transfers, please contact customer support and have the IPS tag of the new registrar (get this from your new registrar) ready when you call.
Godaddy participates in the rapid domain transfer process. Once you have accepted the transfer through the email sent to you from the gaining registrar you'll be able to login to your domain manager, click on "transfers", click the checkbox next to the domain and click "accept." This will release the domain name to your gaining registrar. (These steps may not be possible with some domain extensions.)"

Hello Everyone
Even if the transfer process to another registrar takes time, what are the costs associated with the transfer with respect to GoDaddy. Do I need to continue paying GoDaddy for my subscription even after the transfer ?
Many thanks for your response
TM
@atmxtra If you're transferring your domain name to Godaddy (or any other registrar for that matter), you'll be a transfer fee when you first initiate the transfer. You'll then have to pay an annual renewal fee for the domain name, just like at any other registrar.

Hi There,
I have been trying to transfer my .com domain name since the beginning of the week. The first attempt was denied because I had a private registration activated on the personal info details of domain. I removed this on Monday but the whois still shows private registration and am still unable to transfer it away. I have removed the domain lock as well.
Its been 5 days is there something else I need to do?
Much appreciated.
Hi justingodfrey,
I have initiated a domain Transfer "Out" to NameCheap around 24 hours back but I am still waiting for an email from Godaddy. There is no activity on both the registrars.
Do, I only have to wait or there is some way by which I can know where the process reached?

@abhinavkhemka What does the status of the transfer say under "transfers" in your godaddy domain manager?
