Minecraft domain

Hey. I started a Minecraft server and wanted my GoDaddy domain on it. The domain server address works on my internet, but it doesn't for other people. However they can connect to my public IP, so it seems like the domain isn't port forwarded or something like that. If this is right, how do I find the ports and IP used by the domain? If it isn't right please help me. The Minecraft client says: "Can't resolve hostname"

If you followed the instructions on the other article, the only other thing might be a firewall in the way. You'd need to make sure you have allowed traffic on any particular ports needed.
