One subdomain with multiple IPs as failover

Hi,

For example, I have domain.com and two subdomains (sub1.domain.com) and (sub2.domain.com). Currently, both domain and two subdomains are assigned in DNS management as A type record with Primary domain. I want to add secondary IP for the same domain and subdomains as failover. My domain is not Premium DNS.

If primary IP fail, can we access the subdomains with secondary IP? How does it work? Failover or Load balancing?

Thanks,

@aungmyatthu1030

Generally my experience with multiple IPs on a domain isn't failover but rather round robin.... or better yet - with two IPs think of flipping a coin.

For Failover / different servers I believe that is actually handled server side where everything comes into one server and then that server is connected to multiple servers behind it to be able to balance / fail over as needed
