I am attempting to transfer a 'uk.net' domain which is currently hosted by Heart Internet to GoDaddy. When I use the Godaddy 'Transfer Domain' service, I get the message "There was an error processing your request. Please try again". The domain is unlocked.
Do I need to change the IPS tag before initiating the transfer?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Greetings @gretnablues ,
The .uk transfer process is unique to the Nominet registry.
To initiate a .uk transfer, you have to purchase a .uk transfer for $0 on our website. If it is not processing for you, sometimes 24/7 Support can load it for you (unless there is already a pending request).
Then contact your current registrar and request an IPS tag change to GODADDY. Once updated, the transfer completes immediately.
We do a lot of these, so I'm not suggesting you are not having a problem loading/purchasing it, I'm suggesting there is probably a reason...and 24/7 Support can usually figure that out.
One other note, a .uk transfer does not include a free one-year extension because the transfer is free. Just be sure it is not already expired or expiring, as that can cause an error, too.
I hope that helps,
