Redirect has stopped working

I have a website hosted by Blogger at https://jewishbooks.blogspot.com/. Years ago I purchased the domain bookoflifepodcast.com from GoDaddy and redirected it to point at the Blogger site and that has worked fine. During the last week, I've noticed that the redirect has not been working. It times out and says it can't connect, with error messages like ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED (DuckDuckGo on my phone), or "The connection has timed out. The server at bookoflifepodcast.com is taking too long to respond" (Firefox on desktop), or "This site can't be reached. bookoflifepodcast.com refused to connect. ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" (on Chrome on my phone and desktop). In Blogger I re-entered the third party address info but now it gave me this message: "HTTPS SSL Certificate failed to be processed due to challenge data not being visible through the public internet. Check your DNS setup. The operation will retry shortly." I am attaching an image of this screen. I found this article https://www.shoutmeloud.com/setup-blogspot-custom-domain.html and started to try following its directions but I stopped after adding the CNAME Zone Record because I don't really know what I'm doing. Can you help me?blogger.PNG

Re: Redirect has stopped working

@BookOfLife

Since you are now using a private domain with Blogspot - I am assuming Blogspot has provided you a cname record.

The best way to do this is adjust the forwarding to be to www.bookoflifepodcast.com and then set the www cname to be what blogspot gives you instead of @

This is done at https://dcc.godaddy.com/manage/bookoflifepodcast.com/dns

In non-techie terms what we are doing is to point www.bookoflifepodcast.com to the cname that Blogspot provides - and we are then telling GoDaddy to forward bookoflifepodcast.com to www.bookoflifepodcast.com

Hope this all makes sense
