Root domain point to www doesn´t work

Hello, I´m not a professional webmaster. I was trying to point my root domain (https://example.com) to https://www.example.com version. I created a redirection in GoDaddy DNS Manager and the website was gone. I called Godaddy´s tech-support and they cancelled my redirection telling me that it overrides something and that it should work minutes later. I have the https://www working good on wordpress, but can not access my example.com. It gives "err_connection_refuse".

I checked the A records - it was configured automaticaly by GoDaddy, and there is an @ with an IP. I have a CNAME with www pointing to @ - having it or deliting it changes nothing. I was also trying to add a redirection in cPanel from https://example.com to https://www.example.com and it didn´t work. I deleted my cache in both Chrome and Mozilla.

In WordPress settings I have both addresses with a prefix https://www. I dont want to start a process of moving my public folders and editing config files, etc, utill I understang that it can help my root domain to redirect to www.

Hi @Funky_Helga,

Welcome to the Community!

Keep the CName for the "www" directing to "@". This points it back to "https://example.com". Keep in mind that any changes you make to the DNS can take 24-48 hours to propagate over the networks. You won't see any changes right away.
