Setting up additional SPF record

Folks,

My domain, abc.com, is hosted at GoDaddy. I have another dedicated server, box.abc.com, that will be running MailInABox email server. This server will serve emails as xxx@box.abc.com.

I have added A record and MX record for box.abc.com. Now I am looking at updating SPF record.

The standard spf record at GoDaddy is:

TXT :  @ : v=spf1 a mx include:secureserver.net ~all

Do I edit this record as:

TXT :  @ : v=spf1 a mx include:secureserver.net include:box.abc.com ~all

OR, do I create an additional TXT record as:

TXT :  box : v=spf1 a mx include:box.abc.com ~all

Note that my server box is serving emails as xxx@box.abc.com and not as xxx@abc.com. The latter one will continued to be served by standard GoDaddy mechanism.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Jai

Re: Setting up additional SPF record

Two includes in one record is the best way to go.

Solution

Re: Setting up additional SPF record

Thank you for your help. After much experimentation, turns out you need two records. One is for "@" meaning xxx@abc.com and the other one is for "box" meaning xxx@box.abc.com.
