I have a main dome with SSL. And whenever I add an addon domain, it assumed https status and throughs up security issue on browser.
How do I prevent addon domain from being created to use or inheriting https from the main domain
I checked on my cPanel account and by default adding a domain or subdomain will not use SSL unless you configure the (sub)domain to use SSL.
What kind of hosting account do you have?
Ok. May be becasue I was using the same site that I've used as subdomain with SSL before. I will try to reverse the case
I am using cpanel Linux on godaddy.
I've checked and this is what I found.
1. Once I create an addon domain, that creates a subdomain for the addon (may be expectedly)
2. It seemed this subdomain inherits https from the primary domain but with ivalid certificate (as the cer was not meant for it).
3. I know I can generate an CSR for the domain but that is not what I want (as I plan to have many addon domains, secure or not under the domain)
4. I could not make the subdomain not to inherit the https (which is what I want) and it is preventing the subdomain from load.
Please any help on how to resolve this?
I had to redirect the subdomain (which was automatically created when I created the addon domain) to itself's http version. redirected to http://www.theaddondomain.com, as a temporary measure. I will still appreciate the real solution to this problem
