The state of NC considers me to be employees part time, with my dog grooming business. They usually will not allow me to get unemployment when I leave my full time job. I wonder if they will allow unemployment at this time, since grooming is nonessential.

Somehow I knew that you were a North Carolina dog groomer @NCGroomer (call it a hunch). Welcome to the Community, I wish I could have welcomed you under better circumstances.

I am a business owner in a State where my business and a lot of others are non-essential. I fortunately have not had to apply for unemployment but at I know what qualifies has drastically changed. Perhaps in NC as well officials are looking at what and who qualifies differently? I would say go online and apply, you hopefully will be pleasantly surprised.

Please stay motivated and let us know how you are coming along in your process.

...turns out that my two cents is worth less or more depending on the current exchange rate.

roy darling *my posts seem a lot shorter in my head

I may try to apply online. It depends on how long the gov wants to keep us shut down.
