I have an ssl cert that is expiring in few days, according to chat support, it will work for 2 months beyond this date in which I don`t need this after that time as the domain is going away. How will that work if the cert has expiration I would suspect on the day after there would be ssl errors.
Yes, once the SSL expires, it will throw warnings when people visit the site.
I would suggest going ahead and renewing to keep it secured and, once you no longer need it for that site, you can rekey the SSL for another domain if you'd like.
