SSL wildcard works for existing subdomains, but not newly added subdomains

I have an SSL wildcard certificate applied to *.mydomain.com - it works for my existing subdomains, but does not apply to new subdomains I create.

I have existing subdomains set up:

mysite1.mydomain.com

mysite2.mydomain.com

mysite3.mydomain.com

The SSL certificate works for all of these existing subdomains HOWEVER whenever I add new subdomains, for instance:

mysite4.mydomain.com

mysite5.mydomain.com

Then the certificate doesn't get applied.

So when I go to https://mysite4.mydomain.com , a subdomain I set up a month ago, I get this message in my browser:

This site can’t be reached

The connection was reset.

Is there something else I need to do so that the wildcard certificate applies whenever I create a new subdomain?
