A few reasons why texting may not work:
1) Texting is only available to US numbers. So international texting won't work.
2) Make sure you're sending text to a text-enabled number such as a cell phone number. Landline numbers are not text-enabled.
3) If you're having trouble receiving text from other systems for verification purposes, some systems will only send messages to cell phone numbers. So, it is up to the sender to allow messaging to SmartLine numbers.
4) In some rare cases, it may be a setup issue with our provider. So if you cannot send/receive any texts, please private message me your SmartLine # and I will look into your account.
