Text messages sent to T-Mobile take 45 minutes to arrive

I have two phones (personal and business) and use the SmartLine app on my personal phone so I can use that SmartLine number when I have to make a "business" call from my personal phone. I've never had a problem with actual calls, but text messages can cause trouble.

 

After a few recent conversations with customers I realized they were not getting my text messages - at least not very quickly. So, I did some testing of my own. 

 

Text messages sent from the SmartLine app to my Sprint iPhone arrive in seconds (always under a minute). Text messages sent from the SmartLine app to my T-Mobile Android phone always seem to take 30 to 45 minutes. The messages in my testing always arrived, they just too a really long time.

 

What is the problem with T-Mobile text messages?

This is a known issue with T-Mobile - nothing to do with GoDaddy SmartLine
