Deleting 'Powered by xxx' after migrating from free server to GoDaddy

I used a free server to start building my Wordpress website. It adds 'Powered by HostAwesome' to the website.

After migrating the website to GoDaddy (using the built-in migration tool) the phrase is still on the bottom of the website.

I'm not sure how to delete it. Had no luck editing Theme Footer (Footer.php).

I will appreciate any advise.

It turned out to be a Must-Use Plugin.
I got rid of it by removing the plugin file from the mu-plugins directory (using FTP client).

@mojoprojects  That statement appears only on the homepage.  So I would look in your template files for front-page.php and see if it is declared there.

Thank you. Unfortunately, I can't see it there either.

@mojoprojects   Hmmm.... it's got to be in one of the theme files.  The two we've looked at are the standard and customary files where that type of notice would reside.

Did you look at the functions.php?  Remember, before making any changes to any php files -- always create a backup copy first.  This way if the changes you make muck things up you can easily restore the original code.

If this still eludes you go file by file in your editor of choice and do a search for that footer statement until you locate and then can remove.
