    Marketing on bottom of screen re: Free Trial

    Dear GoDaddy,

    I built a site: https://accuratesound.ca/ and happy with the result. So much so, I got my wife to build her site, but when we started our free trial, this annoying piece of marketing is across all screens while we are trying to build the site. This was not there when I built my site, so I know it can be removed.

    WE GET IT, we don't need a continuous reminder for hours everyday that we can pick a plan. This is the surest way to drive people away from building a website.

    I can only presume this was a mistake and someone forgot to make it a dialog with a close button. So can someone at GoDaddy Marketing please remove this banner or at the very least put a close button on it.

    Thank you.

    @TLH and @MrVapor Thanks for your feedback. I do understand the stats and that people forget, but here is the easy answer: Have the banner show each session, but have a close button to close the banner. That way a) it is out of the way on an already limited landscape with both the web site and mobile site sharing the same page and b) by having people explicitly closing the banner each session will be a great reminder to sign up 🙂

    In the meantime, I used AdBlocker's block element to remove the banner.

    Kind regards,

    Mitch

    @Mitchco

    Actually, every major web marketing firm has provided statistical data that, indeed, a reminder like that turns more often than not into a sale.

    So, yeah, I know it can be annoying, but it leads to sales, so it won't go away.

    Hi @Mitchco,

    Welcome to the Community!

    Please bear with the banner for the short term that it will be there, serving as a reminder to the GoDaddy user on the plan. On the flip side of annoyance, are the many customers who either forget, or are unaware that they need to renew to continue the plan. (Some don't understand the builder/hosting connection.) Avoiding the pain of losing all your hard work to expiration and subsequent recovery fees, will make the 30 days pass quickly (if not painlessly).

    GoDaddy appreciates you taking advantage of the free trial to give the builder a test run, with the hopes of it enhancing your business goals and easily establishing a presence online.

    @Mitchco

    I'm not an employee, so I can't change anything. I just like to be helpful. I'm glad you found a way to stop the annoyance you were having, though. 😁

    @MitchcoThere is a fine line between not enough notice and too much.  I do see how this can be frustrating and I like your idea of being able to close this notice for that session.
