    Staging environment access through FTP

I'm working on the staging environment and I want to use uber menu which will require manual integration. How do I access the functions and css files through FileZilla?

    Thanks!

Re: Staging environment access through FTP

    Hi @BobLewisPhoto,

Yes, that is what I do.  It basically sets the protocol to "Secure" and uses some encryption to send credentials and info.  It stands for Secure Shell.  When you configure your FTP program be sure to change your ports to 22 and your protocol.  Most FTP programs still default to standard FTP on Port 21.

    Hope this helps,

    James

Re: Staging environment access through FTP

    Hi @BobLewisPhoto,

After your staging environment is setup, click on the Settings button when you go into your managed WP dashboard for that site.  Click on SSH/sFTP.  You should see a second dialog box that has all of the login settings for your staging site.

In the event you run into any trouble with the "Push to Production" process, I use the UpdraftPlus migration tool to go into production.  I'm very hopeful that the new GoDaddy servers improve the functionality in the move from staging to production.

    Hope this helps,

    James
