sending mail securely from Windows VPS

The default mail app for Windows VPS is Mail Enable.  It supports sending mail, but not securely.

I've searched somewhat extensively through the community for any info on this, but there doesn't seem to be much information in this area.

Can anyone point me to documentation that explains options around sending secure mail from a VPS on GoDaddy?

Also, if anyone is knowledgeable about SmarterMail, can you tell me if it's possible install a SmarterMail server on VPS as a separate mail server (without interacting with Plesk), and use this as an 'external' SMTP relay?

I've attempted to do this, but the result had not been successful.  I get bounced emails when attempting to send through:

    Error message:

Could not deliver message to the following recipient(s): Failed Recipient: xxxxxx@gmail.com Reason: Remote host said: 601 Failed to connect to the recipients mail server. No MX records were found for the 'gmail.com' domain. Status: 544 5.4.4 Host not found (not in DNS).Attempted to send the message to the following ip's:

If anyone can help, want to thank them in advance.

    Hello @Nunya!

Welcome to the community! For servers, we have support available through your console. Here's how to access support. We have a comprehensive help section available for you as well.

    Hi Heather

    Thanks for the reply.

So I had searched through the help section somewhat extensively.  Nothing substantive came up regarding Windows VPS and the ability to send email securely (eg encrypted with TLS or SSL).

I called Support, and I was told that the Windows VPS email servers already sent out email securely (this was after I was put on hold a few times while the rep called someone else).  After the call, I again checked email sent, I confirmed that the email received is *not* encrypted (eg NOT secure).

If I missed something specific, please point to the resource so I can read up on it.

However if not, I was hoping someone else in the forum has already accomplished secure email sending on a Windows VPS platform, and could provide a few pointers.

In any case, thanks again for the reply, but I am still in need of support/direction.

What may help most is if we can get Plesk Onyx (next version of 12.5).

Do you know when GoDaddy will be offering Plesk Onyx?

    .Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserver") = "relay-hosting.secureserver.net"
    .Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusername") = ""&ras1("emailadres")&""
    .Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendpassword") = "password"
    .Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserverport") = 25
    .Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusing") = 2
    .Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpconnectiontimeout") = 60
    .Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpusessl") = False
    .Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpauthenticate") = 1

these settings work great on secureserver however anything outside of relay-hosting (e.g paid custom service) won't work even though I use the same settings it actually works on another windows hosting.

I get an Failed to transport to connection error.

What seems to be the problem?
