Can't name database

I'm trying to name a database NYCMM, but apparently I cant cause somebody already named a database NYCMM on their server - can somebody give me some light here? I really can't name a database whatever I want? if that's the case, can i create 100 billion databases and and use all combinations possible and nobody will ever be able to create databases?

No its only if someone has used that DB name on that shared hosting server. You can always move to a VPS or Dedicated Server and you wont have that issue. Even business hosting you have a better chance.

That makes more sense. I asked the support agent for a resolution, if there was anything I could upgrade to and he said that there was nothing I could do. He had zero knowledge. Complete mess.
