I want to change my hosting' default web root directory from public_html to public. I want to change it because I used Laravel Framework and used Github for fast and easy update of my website. Since laravel's public folder is public, everytime I pull updates from my github repository through SSH I have to rename the pulled public folder to public_html. So I'm thinking of changing my web root instead of renaming folder everytime I pull an update.
Hi @KarlMacz. Thanks for being part of GoDaddy Community!
There isn't a way to change the root directory for a primary domain. Your best bet would be to create a /public directory at the same level as /public_html and point any addon domains to it. You can set up the account with a false primary domain if you don't have any need to use /public_html. Hope that helps.
