I host my domain with godaddy.
I also have basic hosting with godaddy.
My site content is hosted elsewhere.

So in short.
My www cname is dmspub1.*******.com (third party)

my @ A record is 182.***.***.*** (third party)

Mail a record is 166.***.**.**.** (godaddy ip)

Mx record @ is

Now the problem.
I wish to have mail running as it is but just want that anyone visiting should either recieve a error or be redirected to

I am on shared hosting plan ( most cheap plan) so no whm access etc.

I tried various .htaccess codes but none works because I think doesn't even visit .htaccess. How should I do it so that neither my mail server breaks nor does my website break but stops showing the welcome (default godaddy) page.

Thank you for posting! You should be able to create a CNAME for that points to whatever you'd like. If you'd like it to point to your site's IP or even your domain, you can do that.
