I host my domain with godaddy. I also have basic hosting with godaddy. My site content is hosted elsewhere.
So in short. My www cname is dmspub1.*******.com (third party)
my @ A record is 182.***.***.*** (third party)
Mail a record is 166.***.**.**.** (godaddy ip)
Mx record @ is mail.domain.com
Now the problem. I wish to have mail running as it is but just want that anyone visiting mail.domain.com should either recieve a error or be redirected to domain.com
I am on shared hosting plan ( most cheap plan) so no whm access etc.
I tried various .htaccess codes but none works because I think mail.domain.com doesn't even visit .htaccess. How should I do it so that neither my mail server breaks nor does my website break but mail.domain.com stops showing the welcome (default godaddy) page.
