Pointing external domain to Cpanel

Hello,

I have been pointing a friends domain through Wix, to a website i have hosted in Plesk (Windows).

I am in the process of switching over to Cpanel, everything works great, except I cannot seem to point their domain to Cpanel.

I replaced the IP address Wix should point to with the IP of my Cpanel websites. But it continues to point towards my Plesk.

Is this a common issue? Can I not do this with Cpanel?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Pointing external domain to Cpanel

HI @nick3516

Thank you for your post.

When you moved over to cPanel was the domain added to the cpanel as an primary or addon domain so that the servers may read the association when the domain attempts the connection to the server?

If so, have you tried resolving the URL through a proxy server to go around the network or browser caching that maybe occurring?

If so, have you tested the DNS propagation of your domain to ensure that the I.P. address is fully propagated?

If you have attempted all the above please be sure to contact our 24/7 customer support line and we will be happy to further research the issue with you.

Below I've listed some useful links to help your with your research.

Transfer domain to go daddy Cpanel problem

Hi,

I have tried to transfer a domain to go daddy however when I change the DNS on the Viaduc company, it says that the ip does not match the name server.

The Ip I took was the one from the Cpanel interface.

The NS are the ones that are from the main domain name of the Cpanel.

I added the add-on domain on the cpanel interface and can see under the domain section of go daddy the name of the domain but I have noticed that the NS are different when I go to the DNS section of that domain.

Am I clear enough?

I changed recently because the company I used suddenly stopped loosing all my data (hopefully I had a full backup) and cannot be contacted anymore.

Thanks for your help.

Ben
