How come mysql version is still 5.7? Due to this lower function, some of the functionality is not working in my website. I did a chat with customer care, he was talking about php version where as I was talking about MySQL. How to upgrade to SQL Server latest version?

Last time I had a query on php config change so called customer care. They informed that it will be chargable to implement the code to change the configuration and costs around 2000/-. I refused to pay and googled. I configured it successfully with in 2 mins after I found one forum in google. Don't you think it is cheating. Do you think, customers are fools? Useless support and Useless team.
