htaccess file keeps getting changed

My htaccess file keeps getting changed every other day at the same time causing my site to go down.

I've been on the phone with GoDaddy and they mentioned it might be an plugin that is set to auto update. I've set all my plugins not to update automatically and it is still happening.

The htaccess file gets changed to:

<FilesMatch ".(phtml|php|PhP|php5|suspected)$">
Order Allow,Deny
Deny from all
</FilesMatch>

It is a Wordpress multisite. Has anyone encountered something like this? Does anyone have any insights that can help me figure this out?

Thanks!

Kim

@kimtga

I suggest installing WordFence and running a scan to see if you have any Malware that is doing that

@PL281 I do have WordFence installed and it has not detected malware in the scans.
