http is not redirecting to https not working for pages containing images (fire

Hi I'm new here. I have Economy Linux hosting with cpanel and an ssl cert set up by godaddy. I used the recommended .htaccess file and http is redirected to https except on a few pages with images in a directory below the root directory.

here is .htaccess:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]

So https works in most places. Where it doesn't work Firefox says "Parts of this page are not secure (such as images). It looks like firefox is really the culprit by blocking image files. I can turn this off in firefox, but is there an issue or some to allow images.

Chrome works with https and no complaints about the pages...

Do I jut ignore this?

Thanks

Bob

Re: http is not redirecting to https not working for pages containing images (fire

That can happen if the images are linked as http://, everything loaded on the page should be https:// on an SSL site.

Assuming you're hand coded, the trick is to use protocol agnostic links like <img src="//domain.com/img/logo.png">

If it's WordPress the easiest fix is the plugin really simple ssl.

Thanks very much. Your answer was complete and allowed me to fix my issues.

:-)

Those pages were hard coded and were not using protocol agnostic links. I use Economy linux with Cpanel  and found it easy to fix when I knew what to look for.

Part of my pages were based upon an older template.

Thanks again.
