Our website is hosted externally but we use GoDaddy cPanel email service. Previously we were able to enter http://ourdomain.com/webmail and get redirected to cPanel webmail without any problem. Now, http://mydomain.com/webmail gets 404 error from our website. How do I fix this?
Secondly, our webmail subdomain, http://webmail.mydomain.com, redirects to a cPanel server (https://p3plcpnl0069.prod.phx3.secureserver.net:2096/) that rejects our email logins, "The login is invalid." If, instead, I use the URL https://p3plzcpnl449080.prod.phx3.secureserver.net:2096/, we can sign in w/o problem. The server name in this URL is from the Server Information link on our cPanel admin home page. What is going on and how do I make the subdomain redirect to the proper server?
In December our GoDaddy hosting account was allowed to expire, then was quickly reactivated. According to a GoDaddy tech reactivation moved our account to a new server, then the old server is kept active for 30-ish days before being shut down. Although it's been much longer than 30 days, in the past several weeks we have had increasing problems with mailserver repeatedly asking for password even though mail clients all have them saved. GD tech said this was due to the server switchover and that something didn't go right. I've no clue what to do with this info.
I assume these two issues are related, but I just don't understand what the problems are nor how to fix them.
Thanks for any help!
This is more than likely due to your DNS configuration / settings and what IPs things are pointing to.
