Tim Rowland is an author, humor writer and columnist for Herald-Mail Media in Hagerstown, Md. He has written for national and regional syndicates, including the Bay Journal News Service, Adirondack Life, Cato’s Regulation magazine and America’s Civil War magazine. His books include histories of the New York and Western Maryland mountains, and he has written a series of “Strange and Obscure” books about the Civil War, Revolutionary War and New York City, published by Skyhorse Press in New York, N.Y.
Along with writing, Tim is an avid outdoorsman, having climbed in the Himalayas, hiked the Inca Trail and ridden a bicycle across the United States. He has climbed all 46 Adirondack High Peaks over 4,000 feet. He is a current board member of the Warm Springs Watershed Association and the C&O Canal Trust. .
