We’re genuinely jazzed about Joomla! J and Beyond!

I hope there will be trumpets

Joomla!® is one of the most popular Content Management Systems (CMS) on the planet, with more than 50 million downloads. In support of the Joomla! community, GoDaddy is honored to be a sponsor of the international J and Beyond conference in Königstein, Germany, from May 30 through June 1.

The event will feature dozens of speakers and a series of community-oriented keynotes, including:

Investing In Joomla! Pays Off — The conference will open with Michael Babker showing how Joomla! is truly the project that the community built, illustrating how the community “shaped the current state of the project through voicing their opinion, sharing their code, and engaging with each other.”

Writing Code that Lasts — When do you refactor? And when do you rewrite? Rafael Dohms will explore the current state of development, and share his perspective on how developers can create code that is functional, maintainable and enduring.

Mind Our Languages — Joomla! is global, and Marijke Stuivenberg of the Joomla! Translation Coordination team will talk about the importance of internationalization. (I’m especially excited about this session, as GoDaddy recently launched into 21 markets and 14 languages.)

The Driven Developer — Discover how to use the right combination development driven by behavior and testing to get exactly what the customer wants, with Sebastian Bergmann.

Your Open Source Persona — How do open source tribes fit together? Lorna Jane Mitchell will explore how we can build strong and respected communities of great people and examine how every developer fits together into the larger puzzle.

What’s Your Next Investment? — David Hurley will share his thoughts on how we can take the value gained from J and Beyond to move the community forward.

In addition to the keynotes above, there are dozens of sessions exploring every aspect of the Joomla! community. Interested in joining us at J and Beyond? Learn more about the event here.
