Blogger and GoDaddy customer Christina shares a holiday email marketing idea guest post: Use GoDaddy Email Marketing to prepare a ‘Holiday Gift Guide’ email.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And by that, I mean it’s a great time to let your blog and social media networks work for you to put a little bit of spending money in your pocket.
This year I wanted to share some of my favorite products for people and pets with my readers over on The Lazy Pit Bull. I did a lot of research and looked high and low, trying to figure out the best way to put together a really amazing 2013 Holiday Gift Guide that would be both functional and beautiful.
That’s when it dawned on me: GoDaddy has everything I need for this holiday email marketing idea. It’s easy to use, beautiful, and best of all, absolutely free. I couldn’t ask for more.
Christina’s holiday email marketing gift guide
I began the process back in August. I contacted several of my favorite small businesses and handmade shops and asked them to be a part of my first ever holiday gift guide. I also reached out to a few companies whose affiliate programs I participate in, and I found that everyone I talked to was excited about being a part of this holiday email marketing opportunity.
I compiled photographs of my favorite products and created affiliate links for the products, using Shareasale. I wanted a good balance of gift ideas for both people and pets. I tried to mix it up with lots of different items like jewelry, toys, home décor items, greeting cards and wrapping paper. I wanted my gift guide to have a little something for everyone.
Putting everything together using GoDaddy Email Marketing tool was the fun part. I had a great time pulling together all the photos and links, and writing the copy for each item. I love that everything is so highly customizable, because I was able to create the exact gift guide that I had envisioned in my mind, using all the colors, photos, and fonts that made it exactly what I’d hoped for.
The final product was delivered to my subscribers on October 23. If you’re considering doing your own Gift Guide this season, I can’t think of a better way to do it. Using email marketing to send a holiday gift guide introduces your blog readers to your favorite products this holiday season, and may even make you a little pocket cash. It also drives traffic to your site and sends them your holiday greeting all in one.
