How to install Nodejs on CentOS

For server-side programming, Node.js gets a lot of attention. If an application needs backend functionality, Node.js is certainly worth a look. More importantly, it's super simple to get Node up and running on CentOS.

Install the EPEL repository

yum install epel-release

Install Node.js

yum install nodejs

Double-check to make sure everything is working

You can verify the install by checking the version number of Node.

node --version

This should return the version number (e.g. "v0.10.30").
