Process a pickup order on the Poynt Smart Terminal

When a customer places a pickup order, use the Poynt Smart Terminal to let them know when their order is ready, process their payment and complete the order when your customer comes to pick it up.

The Orders app displays local delivery and pickup orders along with any associated transactions from GoDaddy Payments or another payment option such as PayPal Checkout. Orders delivered through standard shipping methods (like UPS) will not appear in the Orders app. If your customer paid with GoDaddy Payments, the transaction will appear in your Transactions.

Note: You’ll need to set up the local pickup shipping method in your Websites + Marketing or Managed WordPress Ecommerce online store if you’d like to offer this option to customers.

Step 1: Locate, prepare and order for pickup

Use the Orders app in your Poynt Smart Terminal to find new pickup orders and let your customer know when their order is ready.

Note: If you’ve enabled customers to select a local pickup time window, you won’t be able to see the order pickup time on the Smart Terminal. To see order pickup times, access your order using your web browser. Pickup times display under Fulfillment Time.

  1. From the Smart Terminal home menu, tap Orders.
  2. Tap the Status dropdown and check the box next to Open. Tap Apply.
  3. Tap the Types dropdown and check the box next to Pickup. Tap Apply.
  4. A list of all open pickup orders will appear. Tap an order to open the order details.
  5. Prepare the order for your customer, then select Mark Ready. This will automatically notify your customer that their order is ready to pick up.

Step 2: Complete a pickup order

When your customer picks up their order, process their payment and release the order.

  1. From the Smart Terminal home menu, tap Orders.
  2. Tap the Status dropdown and check the box next to Ready. Tap Apply.
  3. Tap the Types dropdown and check the box next to Pickup. Tap Apply.
  4. A list of all ready pickup orders will appear. Tap an order to open the order details.
  5. If the order is Unpaid, process the customer’s payment. (If the order is Paid, skip this step.)
    1. Tap Charge.
    2. Tap the payment method field in the upper-right corner and select the customer’s payment method (Credit, Cash, Manual Entry, etc.).
    3. Follow the onscreen prompts to process the customer’s payment.
    4. On the customer-facing screen, the customer can select their preferred receipt method (No Receipt, Paper Receipt, Email or Text).
  6. Tap Mark Picked Up to complete the pickup order.
