Why do I need to remove my domain from Microsoft?

If your domain’s attached to your previous Microsoft 365 account at Microsoft, we can't set up your email with Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy. Your domain might be attached to an account with Microsoft if you've purchased Microsoft 365 or signed up for a free trial.

How do I remove my domain from Microsoft?

Follow the steps to remove your domain from Microsoft, or select Contact Us on the Remove your domain from Microsoft page to walk through it with our bot. After you’ve removed the domain, you can start sending and receiving emails with Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy.

What happens if I don't remove my domain?

If you don't remove your domain from your Microsoft 365 account at Microsoft, you can't use Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy. If your domain isn't removed from Microsoft after you move to Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy, you’ll lose access to the mailboxes associated with the domain. Workspace Email is removed from your account 14 days after the transition, so you’ll also be at risk of losing mail flow to your mailboxes.

If you'd like to regain access to the mailboxes associated with your domain and fix issues with mail flow after your transition, go to your Email & Office Dashboard. In the red banner, select Help me fix this.
