In Season 5, witness a resurgence of small businesses that are helping revive the state’s economy and put it on the path to redemption. In episode 1, we meet several determined Ohioans who are chasing their small business dreams—and the local organization that is helping them access the right resources along the way. Together, they show us how having a diverse entrepreneurial economy helps Ohio fuel job growth, fight poverty, build sustainable wealth and lift entire communities. Prepare to be inspired.

Friends since kindergarten, Vonda and Lisa are known as “the pickin’ ladies” around Portsmouth, Ohio, for turning trash to treasure in their Gray Brush Vintage Market. Follow them as they go from a flea market to a funding competition in episode 3, up against the odds in Appalachia.

We’re back in Cleveland with Carter’s BBQ as they pull off a reimagined Father’s Day fundraiser for foster youth. Gray Brush faces funding frustrations. And both businesses unveil something big online and attend ECDI’s small business course graduation.
