Small museums are the heart of their communities, preserving unique stories, traditions, and histories that might otherwise be lost. They serve as vital community hubs, fostering local pride, supporting tourism, and providing accessible cultural spaces for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite their enormous value, research by GoDaddy among the Kids in Museums\u2019 network found three in five small museums fear closure due to declining footfall and revenue. The school holiday periods are particularly vital for small museums \u2013 accounting for over a quarter of their annual income.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why, this school holiday, GoDaddy and Kids in Museums are inviting families to embark on a \u2018Small Day Out<\/em>\u2019 to discover the amazing attractions these independent museums have to offer.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For four in five small museums, recent times have been the most challenging period they have ever faced \u2013 with footfall yet to return to its pre-Covid levels. Income levels have also declined over the past five years, and they face stiff competition from larger attractions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Small museums are a wonderful part of the UK\u2019s cultural heritage, and they continue to play vital roles in local economies. Now is the time to show your support for local, independent businesses.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
