At a time of constant change, we wanted to get a timely pulse on what small business owners were thinking and feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What did the survey find?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrepreneurs are not changing their long-term growth or near-term hiring plans, despite mitigated optimism on the next 6 months for the national economy and their own revenue.&nbsp;Detailed findings below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are they affected by evolving tariff policies?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:36%\">\n<p>Actually, only somewhat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>69%<\/strong> of microbusiness and small business owners have no international supply chain exposure and are insulated due to domestic operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>45%<\/strong> source more than half of their materials within their city or state<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>65%<\/strong> primarily serve local or in-state customers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><strong>And how are these small businesses feeling?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>72%<\/strong> expect their own revenues to increase or stay stable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>45%<\/strong> expect the broader U.S. economy to hold steady or improve <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In short: they seem to demonstrate planned growth with an adjusted timeline on returns.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"543\" height=\"613\" src=\"https:\/\/www.godaddy.com\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1_GoDaddy-Small-Business-Research-Lab_Summer-2025-Survey_Locally-Focused_blog_SM_2.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8726\" style=\"width:554px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:12px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"543\" height=\"766\" src=\"https:\/\/www.godaddy.com\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2_GoDaddy-Small-Business-Research-Lab_Summer-2025-Survey_6-Month-Outlook_blog_sm.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8735\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><strong>How are these small businesses doing?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Two-thirds (65%)<\/strong> of small business owners report stable or rising revenues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over <strong>40%<\/strong> earn more than $60,000 annually, and more than <strong>1 in 5<\/strong> surpass $120,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>30%<\/strong> plan to hire additional employees in the next 12 months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:36px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"784\" src=\"https:\/\/www.godaddy.com\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/3_GoDaddy-Small-Business-Research-Lab_Summer-2025-Survey_Rev-Change-Over-next-6-months_blog.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8709\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do these small and microbusinesses still support households and communities?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1 in 3<\/strong> consider themselves their household\u2019s primary breadwinner (they bring in more than 51% of total household income)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Almost half (47%) <\/strong>say their small business is their main source of household income, and of those, the majority <strong>(65%)<\/strong> are also the breadwinners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The research uncovers almost no significant shift in long-term entrepreneurial ambitions over the last 5 years of surveys.
